Compositing Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and allocation of work to the artists within your team
• Supervise the progress and output of the Compositing crew as well as QC-ing work in a way that supports meeting deadlines
• Drive team reviews and offer creative/technical feedback (specifically to the Compositing team)
• Design and develop templates, gizmos and scripts for use by the Comp crew
• Close collaboration with the Art Director, CG-Supervisor and clients
• Supervise the outsourcing of 2D work (Roto/Prep etc)
• Participates in the creation and submission of job bids
• Takes part in the planning and supervision of Pipeline Development

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Compositing experience in TVCs, Episodics or Features
• Background and interest in design, artwork and photography
• Good understanding of composition, lighting, color and motion
• Proven track record of leading a Compositing team
• Advanced Knowledge of Nuke and all Compositing related tasks (Keying, Integration, Compositing using AOVs, Roto/Paint, Deep)
• Working knowledge of Color Management in a modern VFX Pipeline (ACES, OCIO etc)
• Experience in handling Editorial (Ingest & Conform) related tasks is a plus
• Good understanding of common file formats & working standards, as well as an aptitude for working in a structured and technically-efficient way
